My name is Helene Beauchamp. I became interested in renewable energy while earning my Master’s Degree in Environmental Science. I believe choices about our energy landscape are some of the most impactful ones we can make.
I’ve been devoted to renewable energy ever since. I started working in the solar industry in 2008. My early days in solar were spent learning about passive solar technology, solar water heating, and other solar thermal applications.
I went back to college to study engineering to become a renewable energy engineer, graduating in 2014 from the University of New Mexico.
In 2015 I worked as an analyst, monitoring and troubleshooting installed C&I assets, and as a solar panel testing assistant. In 2016 I began doing the electrical design of utility-scale PV projects. In 2020 I started working on my first PV+Storage projects.
I’ve designed over 450 MW of photovoltaic power plants and over 100 MWh of storage systems.
I’m a licensed Professional Engineer, with active licenses in NC, SC, MS, and VA.
When I’m not engineering, you’ll likely find me outdoors enjoying the mountains of Western North Carolina, working in my garden, or cooking.
